Father Henry Ormond, O.Carm., was given a 20-Year Service Award in May at Holy Names University in Oakland, California, where he helped to develop and has taught in the Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology.

Chaplain Father Joseph Wallroth, O.Carm., has been named to the “Chief of Chaplains Advisory Committee on Ethics and Standards” at the Pentagon.

In September Father Joseph Atcher, O.Carm., was appointed the Chief Education Officer for the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.


Carmelites Joseph Nguyen, John Horan, Kevin McBrien, and Floyd Lopez attended the Marian Days Festival in Carthage, Missouri in August.

Father John Adapoor, O.Carm., shown here to the left, visited the Parish of Saint John of the Cross in Mississauga, Ontario in the month of August. Two Carmelites from the Indian Commissary, Fathers Joyson Pottackal, O.Carm., and Abraham Kulanjiyil, O.Carm., are the associate pastors of the parish. Father Leo Huard, O.Carm., pastor of the parish, is shown to the right.

Father James Boyce, O.Carm., recently was given tenure at Fordham University where he is a professor in the Department of Music.

 

In August, the pre-novices, Christopher Lesher, Edgar Lopez, and Jason Hungerford vistited the grave of the Province’s founder, Cyril Knoll, O.Carm., and the other early Carmelites in Scipio, Kansas.
