Catholic Press Association Awards
Two Carmelites won prizes at the
annual Catholic Press Association
awards. The awards were
announced at the Press Associations
annual convention on May 27th in
Orlando, Florida.
Father Bruce Baker, O.Carm.,
won a third place award for best
essay for his Lent 2004 spirituality
article that appeared in Share the
Word magazine which was
entitled, “Praying to hear from
You in Your Word.” The judges
for the Catholic Press Association
commented: “Practical, useful essay
for the initiated. An engaging introduction
to the ancient form of Lectio
Divina, the prayerful reading of Scripture,
which deservedly is gaining
renewed popularity.”
Dr. Keith Egan, T.O.Carm., won a second place award for best feature
article for “Banishing Anxiety” which
appeared in the Autumn issue of
Spiritual Life magazine. |
