When a man enters the Carmelite Order his first level of formation (training) is called “Pre-novitiate.” From there he moves to the next level, the “Novitiate.” Then from there, he begins theological studies and ministry. The Carmelites who direct these levels are called “Formators.” The formators currently in each level are moving on to different ministries and these are the Carmelites beginning in these positions.
