Mr. Balloon Man. Father Chris Kulig, O.Carm., can be seen making hearts, and flowers and other creative objects with balloons at carnivals and weddings at Immaculate Conception/ Saint Joseph Parish in Leavenworth, Kansas. Father Chris’ balloon art hobby brings yet another dimension to his parish ministry. Father Paul Henson, O.Carm., principal at Crespi spoke about the accolades of former Crespi Principal Father Joe Atcher, O.Carm., who received the Spiritual Leader Award at the Crespi Hall of Fame induction ceremony held on October 3, 2009. Brother Edgar Lopez, O.Carm. received the peter Claver Award for his ministry to young people in the African-American community of Los Angeles, California. Father Bernie Bauerle, O.Carm., treasurer of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Province attended the bursars meeting held in Sassone, Italy, on October 9, 2009. Father Mike Kissane, O.Carm., of the Saint Elias province (right) was also present. Father Sam Citero, O.Carm., presided at Mass at the Shrine of Saint John of the Cross in Segovia Spain on Friday May 29, 2009. Father Sam accompanied a group of English pilgrims on a seven day tour of Carmelite Spain. In addition to Segovia the group also visited the Incarnation Convent in Avila as well as Salamanca, Alba de Tormes and other Carmelite churches and convents.
